A simple shoulder rig for DSLR cameras
The Straight Rig v2 is an elegantly simple shoulder rig for DSLR cameras. Shooters who use an external monitor or EVF will prefer The Straight Rig because it places the monitor/EVF in front of the face while leaving the camera balanced on the centerline of the rig. The Straight Rig is exceptionally well balanced, both from the top handles and on the shoulder, meaning you’ll capture steady, cinematic images all day long with little or no fatigue. Customize your Straight Rig today using the options below.
The Straight Rig is an extremely versatile and well balanced shoulder rig for shooters who prefer to use an external monitor or EVF, rather than the camera’s built-in LCD. You have the option of selecting our Basic weightless model or our Plus model that comes with a 4lb weight.
Balance defines The Straight Rig. The rig is extremely neutral on the shoulder, leading to smoother shots and a longer operating time. The camera sits on the centerline of the rig, and with its wide handles, the Straight Rig balances perfectly on the roll axis. The soft shoulder pad and compact counter weight complete the picture and create a rig that is inherently stable front and back and side to side.
We’ve designed it to be as efficient and useful as possible. When equipped with the optional top handle and tripod mounting plate, the Straight Rig quickly converts from the perfect shoulder rig, to the perfect low-angle camera platform, then into a perfect tripod-mounted camera platform. Making the Straight Rig a versatile companion to help shooters complete and task. All Jag35 rigs are made to conform to the industry standard 15mm rod system, so you can easily mount any accessories, rods or connectors that our rigs will work cohesively with and also use this system. This means our rig will work with any gear you may already have.
Better Than Ever
We’ve taken our Straight Rig and made it better than ever, upgrading all the components to our new version 2. Slowly we’ve been improving the way we manufacture and machine our products, resulting in a smoother surface and a allowing for a better fit with rods of any brand. Our Knobs are also now machined to get a tighter, stronger grip on the rods, meaning you can build the most rigid and durable rig possible. Many of the rail-blocks (for example the one attached to the shoulder pad) no longer require tightening 2 knobs for assembly. Switching to a single knob system makes assembly and disassembly quick and efficient, and also easier on your fingertips. The way we anodize our products has also seen an upgrade, we’ve improved our techniques resulting in a shinier, smoother, more even color, and most importantly a color that will withstand years of use and abuse, meaning your rig will keep its sleek and professional look for years to come.
