Die Tageslicht-Kameraleuchte Reporter 21D MicroSun kann neben den gebräuchlichen 12- und 30-Volt-Akkus von Sachtler auch von 24-V-Batterien in Fahrzeugen oder auf Schiffen gespeist werden; selbst die starken 30-V-Akkus arbeiten mit der MicroSun zusammen. Damit werden im EB-Betrieb bisher nicht gekannte lange Betriebszeiten erreicht.

Die Betriebstemperatur der MicroSun ist so gering, dass Filterfolien direkt im Filterhalter dauerhaft verwendet werden können. Zum Wechsel von Tages- auf Kunstlicht genügt ein kleines Stück Tageslicht-Konversionsfolie (CTO). Das Gehäuse besteht aus robustem Kunststoff mit geringer Wärmeleitfähigkeit. Auch nach langer Betriebszeit lässt sich die Leuchte mit bloßen Händen anfassen.

Der weite Fokussierbereich von 18 bis 61° HW macht die Reporter 21D für viele Anwendungen flexibel.

Die Halterung für Filter und das 4-Flügeltor sind auch für weiteres Zubehör mit 76 mm Durchmesser geeignet (entspricht 3"). Etwa für die Projektion von Gobos oder zur Aufnahme eines Chimera-Trägers.

Die Leuchtdauer der MicroSun mit einem vollen Akku ist doppelt so lang wie die einer konventionellen 50-W-Halogenleuchte mit der gleichen Akkuleistung. Beim Anschluss an den Kameraakku NP1 14,4 V/1,9 Ah beträgt die Betriebszeit eine Stunde und mehr als zwei Stunden mit dem kleinsten 12 V / 4,5 Ah Belt-Pack.
