Boris Blue basiert auf der Technologie von Boris Red und bringt die bewährte Animationsumgebung auf eine neue Ebene: die Erstellung von komplexen 3D-Effekten, Titeln, Filtern und Partikelsystemen in Echtzeit. Somit eignet sich Boris Blue besonders für Aufgaben, bei denen Zeit ein kritischer Faktor ist (z.B. schnelle Trailerproduktion). Durch die Möglichkeit, Änderungsvorschläge in Anwesenheit des Kunden sofort umsetzen zu können, ergeben sich neue Einsatzgebiete und eine höhere Effizienz. Mit der aktuellen Version 2 ist zusätzlich zum Standalone Einsatz auch die Plugin-Integration in Avid Systeme möglich. Dadurch können erstmalig 3D-Modelle direkt in Ihre Avid Timeline gebracht und mit Videomaterial kombiniert werden.

Features:

Geschwindigkeit Im Gegensatz zu Boris RED, wo über OpenGL-Ressourcen der Grafikkarte lediglich die Vorschau beschleunigt wird, benutzt Blue für alle Bildberechnungen die GPU-Leistung der Grafikkarte. Dadurch sind sowohl Vorschau als auch Export zu AVI und QuickTime in Echtzeit möglich.
3D Gestaltung Blue behandelt alle Gegenstände der Timeline als 3D Objekte im echten 3D Raum. Mit der neuen Technologie lassen sich nicht nur die Formen der Objekte verändern (biegen, krümmen, rotieren, wellen etc.), sondern auch komplexe Oberflächentexturen gestalten. Hierzu gehören 3D Lichter inkl. Schattenwurf, Umgebungsreflexionen, Bump Maps und verschiedene Materialpresets. 3D-Modelle im .3ds und .obj - Format können in Blue importiert werden.
Partikelsysteme Wirkungsvolle Effekte lassen sich mit dem neuen Partikelgenerator erzeugen. Per Drag Drop werden verschiedenste Elemente in einen Partikelcontainer gezogen, wo sie tausendfach dupliziert und ausgestoßen werden. Auf diese Weise sind z.B. realistische Feuerdarstellungen inkl. Rauchentwicklung möglich - natürlich in 3D und in Echtzeit.
Bitmap zu Vektor Blue bietet eine komfortable Möglichkeit, 2D Grafiken in 3D Objekte zu verwandeln. Wie in RED ist das Extrudieren von Vektorgrafiken im EPS- oder AI-Format möglich, mit der Bitmap To Vector Funktion können Sie nun auch Bitmapgrafiken anhand ihrer Luma- oder Alphainformation in Vektorgrafiken umwandeln und zu 3D Objekten extrudieren.
