Boris RED 4 integriert die Funktionen und Filter von Graffiti, FX und Continuum Complete. Zusätzlich finden Sie hier viele weitere Features, die es zu einem umfassenden Compositing- und Effektprogramm machen. Da Boris Red sowohl als Plugin, als auch als Standalone Render Engine arbeitet, ist eine optimale Integration in Ihr Produktionsumfeld gewährleistet.

Vollversion besteht aus folgenden Softwarekomponenten:

RED PlugIn, das sich in die Timeline des Schnittsystems integriert
RED Standalone Engine, zum Bearbeiten und Rendern von Animationen unabhängig vom Schnittsystem
RED Keyframer, zum Vorbereiten und Abspeichern von Effekteinstellungen (der Keyframer darf auf beliebig vielen Systemen installiert werden)

Deutsche Lern DVD: Als deutsche Dokumentation wird allen Red Vollversion sowie allen Updates die deutsche Boris Lern DVD kostenlos beigelegt! Ein Ausführliches Kapitel beschäftigt sich mit den Neuerungen in Red 4 und bietet somit einen idealen Einstieg. In über 5 Stunden Laufzeit werden alle wichtigen Grundlagen und viele weiterführende Funktionen erklärt.
Neue Filter: In der Filtergruppe von Red 4 finden Sie nun nahezu alle Effekte aus dem preisgekröntem Continuum Complete Filterpaket. Neu sind u.a. volumetrische Lichter, Glow, Halftone (Zeitungsdruck-Effekt), Color Match und einen automatischen Bildstabilisator. Auch aus der Boris-eigenen Filtersammlung Final Effects Complete sind einige Effekte in Red 4 aufgenommen worden, z.B. Kaleida, Mr. Mercury (Flüssigkeitssimulation) und Hair. Die Gesamtzahl der Filter liegt nun bei über 160.
Neue Benutzeroberfläche: Mit Red 4 ist Boris eine Benutzeroberfläche geglückt, die ein modernes Aussehen, neue Funktionen und Workflowverbesserungen bietet, ohne dass bestehende Anwender sich umgewöhnen müssen. Zu den Neuerungen gehören: Neues Button-Design, konfigurierbare Timeline-Buttons, optimierte Renderqueue, Tabs für multiple Kompositionen in der Timeline, Kontext-sensitives Tool-Fenster, automatische Aufteilung zur Darstellung aller Tabs im Controls-Fenster, Keyframe-Spur im Composite-Fenster, u.v.m.
Painting Tools: Die komplett überarbeitete Paint-Engine in Red 4 bietet neue Pinselfunktionen wie Clone Brush, Multilayer Brush, Grafik-basierte Pinselformen, Videotextur und drucksensitives Zeichnen (Wacom Unterstützung). Die umfangreichen Animationsmöglichkeiten und Interaktivität der Strokes machen Red 4 zu einem starken Paintingtool.
Wacom Tablett Unterstützung: Als Alternative zur Maus kommt v.a. bei Professionellen Anwendern oft ein Wacom Tablett zum Einsatz. Die Bewegung des Cursors mit dem Stift ermöglicht ein schnelleres und präziseres Arbeiten. Besonders beim Painting profitiert der Anwender von den drucksensitiven Eigenschaften und der natürlichen Ergonomie von Wacom.
Bitmap zu Vektor Funktion: Red 4 bietet eine komfortable Möglichkeit, um 2D Grafiken in 3D Objekte zu verwandeln. Schon in Vorgängerversionen war das Extrudieren von Vektorgrafiken im EPS- oder AI-Format möglich, mit der Bitmap To Vector Funktion können Sie nun auch Bitmapgrafiken anhand ihrer Luma- oder Alphainformation in Vektorgrafiken umwandeln und zu 3D Objekten extrudieren.
Untertitel Funktion: In Red 4 können Sie EBU Untertitel-Dateien importieren und bearbeiten. Die Titelblöcke werden in einem Titelcontainer gruppiert und lassen sich wie alle Textelemente in Boris editieren. FCP-Anwender können die Untertitel als FCP XML exportieren.
