The CAMFLAG Drive Unit is a high-precision, motorized shading solution designed for professional broadcast applications. It is specially developed for direct mounting onto broadcast box lenses and synchronizes seamlessly with the camera’s zoom signal – in real time. CAMFLAG automatically detects the current zoom level and dynamically extends or retracts the integrated shading element – the so-called "flag". The result: Direct sunlight is effectively blocked without interfering with the frame. This leads to a significant reduction of lens flares and unwanted reflections, especially when light hits the lens at a shallow angle. Many operators resort to makeshift solutions like cardboard in difficult lighting situations. However, such improvisations can interfere with the image while zooming. CAMFLAG offers the professional answer: A fully integrated, motorized system that automatically and reliably adapts to any focal length changes – with no manual input required. After a brief initial calibration, the system is ready to operate within minutes. Thanks to its compatibility with lenses from leading manufacturers like Canon and Fujinon, it integrates effortlessly into existing broadcast setups.
