Minimising wind noise without impairing microphone features

The Rycote Super-Softie windshield for example, offers high performance at the same time as excellent acoustic transparency. Thanks to the innovative, aerodynamic design of the windshield and the unique 3D-Tex surface material, this product combines a strong attenuation of wind noise and outstanding acoustic penetrability. The features of the microphone being used remain almost unimpaired. The features of the Rycote Super-Softie remain unaffected by rain or dirt. The shield can be squeezed out and shaken dry and is extremely robust. Very dirty Super-Softies can simply be washed. You are therefore always fully equipped with a first-class windshield for your microphone even in the most adverse weather and under extreme conditions.

Basket windshield systems for acoustic isolation from the microphone holder

Basket windshield systems from our shop offer outstanding features for outdoor sound recording. Basket windshield systems are also available which allow for an additional isolation of the microphone from its mount. These are equipped with flexible microphone mounts and are suitable for diverse microphones. Thanks to the isolation, wind noise as well as rumble and handling noise can be reduced while filming. The Rode Blimp MkII basket windshield system for example, fits different Rode microphones as well as many other directional microphones from other manufacturers up to a length of 32.5 centimetres and a diameter of between 19 and 22 millimetres. It reduces wind as well as structure-borne noise and is equipped with two flexible as well as sliding mounts for the microphone. An effective Dead Wombat fur windshield and integrated XLR connection cable are included with the product. A 3/8” thread attachment at the base allows for the attachment to a boom pole.

Fully equipped with practical windshield kits

Each kit includes a windshield basket, a flexible microphone mount with a pistol grip, an adapter for attachment to a boom pole and a suitable windjammer.
