Properties:
The Alpha 7S III is a 4K UHD mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with EXMOR R CMOS 35mm full-frame sensor and 12.1 effective megapixels. The powerful BIONZ XR image processor offers up to 8 times more processing power than the previous model. For fast focusing, the camera features a hybrid autofocus that combines AF phase detection and AF contrast detection, providing 799 phase detection points at full-frame. The ISO range can be extended from 80 - 102,400 up to 409,600, allowing shootings even in difficult lighting conditions. The large 3" TFT touchscreen LC display can be tilted and swivelled and the electronic 0.64" colour viewfinder impresses with its 9.44 million pixels. The integrated ultrasonic cleaning system keeps the image sensor free from dirt and dust, while the optical 5-axis image stabilizer ensures wobble-free images.
In the field of photography, the Alpha 7S III enables image sizes of up to 4,240 x 2,832 pixels (3:2, 12 MP, 35 mm ful-frame) in JPEG and RAW recording formats. Videos can be recorded in Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) or 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) at up to 120 frames per second in XAVC S (MPEG-4 AVC / H.264) or XAVC HS (MPEG-H HEVC / H.265). The camera also allows 16-bit RAW to be output to an external recorder via HDMI 2.0. To dissipate the heat generated, the camera is equipped with a heat-conductive magnesium housing with heat sink, which allows long recording times.
The internal recording is made on two SD cards (SDHC / SDXC, UHS-I / UHS-II) or two CFexpress cards (type A). The Alpha 7S III is powered either by the supplied NP-FZ100 battery with a capacity of 2,280 mAh or continuously via USB-C. The USB-C port can also be used to charge the battery in the camera. The camera can be connected to a smartphone or other mobile device via Bluetooth 5.0 (2.4 GHz). The Alpha 7S III can be used with full-frame or APS-C lenses and is equipped with the Sony E-Mount.
