Properties:
The Sony HXR-NX800 is a compact handheld camcorder equipped with a multi-layer Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor Type 1.0 with approximately 14.0 megapixels (effective) and a fixed lens with 20x optical zoom. The "Clear Image Zoom" technology provides an optical zoom of 24-480 mm (equivalent to 35 mm full-frame) and allows for a 30x zoom in 4K recordings and a 40x zoom in FullHD. The aperture ranges from F2.8 (wide) to F4.5 (tele). The HXR-NX800 supports the XAVC S-I format, which enables 10-bit 4:2:2 recordings in the highest quality for 4K (QFHD), making it ideal for post-production. The camcorder features numerous connections, including HDMI (Type A), USB-C, LAN, and Remote-Terminal. The WLAN integration with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz allows for high-quality streaming via the Sony C3 Portal (paid) or XDCAM Pocket, supporting RTMP/RTMPS and SRT protocols. Remote control and signal monitoring are possible via the Monitor&Control app. An automatic framing function tracks recognized human subjects and keeps them in focus. Additional features include a fast hybrid autofocus, integrated image stabilization, an electronically adjustable ND filter (1/4 to 1/128 ND and Auto-ND function), a precise 3.5-inch LCD monitor, an OLED viewfinder Type 0.39, two independent rings for focus and zoom (aperture control available from June 2025), two dials for IRIS and ND variables, 12 assignable buttons, as well as support for up to 4-channel audio via XLR connectors and the Mi-shoe. The camera has two memory card slots for CFexpress Type A and SD and is equipped with an internal fan.
