The Canon CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L S/L SP 4.1x wide-angle zoom lenses are landmark optical additions to Canon’s Cinema Lens series for the groundbreaking Cinema EOS System. They support 4K resolution (pixel count four times Full HD) and compatibility with industry-standard Super 35mm-equivalent cameras.
The CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L S and CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L SP lenses offer a potent combination of exceptional 4K (4096x2160 pixels) imaging performance and the industry’s widest angle of view amongst 35mm digital cinema lenses at the wide-angle-end focal length of 14.5mm.
The 4K optical ability, the choice between EF and PL mount versions of the lens and the wide angle of view will appeal to a wide spectrum of demanding professional filmmakers - from broadcast professionals to movie directors, directors of photography to documentary makers, and commercial makers to creative industry professionals - who will appreciate outstanding 4K image quality and wide lens compatibility for their film making needs.
- Compatibility with Canon EF lens mount (CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L S)
- Compatibility with industry-standard PL lens mount (CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L SP)
- 4K optical performance
- Widest angle of view among 35mm digital cinema lenses
- Newly designed 11-blade aperture diaphragm for soft, attractive blur
- Engraved zoom, focus and iris markings
- Metric/non-metric unit for focus marking available
- Sturdy but user-friendly build quality for demanding productions
- Anti-reflective coating
- Anomalous dispersion glass to reduce chromatic aberration
Widespread lens mount compatibility
The CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L S (EF mount) and the CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L SP (PL mount) cinema lenses open up widespread lens compatibility options for filmmakers who either wish to embrace Canon’s long-established, and wide-ranging, EF lens mount system or to take advantage of the wide angle of view in the industry-standard PL mount.
Outstanding optical performance
Both of the lenses deliver exceptional 4K (4096x2160 pixels, compared to the 1920x1080 pixel count of Full HD), optical performance and offer compatibility with Super 35mm-equivalent cameras. Employing anomalous dispersion glass, effective in eliminating chromatic aberration, plus large-diameter aspherical lenses the zoom lenses achieve high-resolution imaging from the centre of the frame to the outer edges.
The CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L S/L SP lenses weigh 4.5kg and offer a sturdy build that’s user-friendly for demanding productions. They feature zoom, focus and iris markings that are all engraved on angled surfaces for improved readability.
Precise focusing control
With a focus rotation angle of approximately 300 degrees and a zoom rotation angle of approximately 160 degrees the lenses facilitate precise focusing performance whilst allowing for smooth and subtle zoom operation.
These top-end cinema zoom lenses can be used with standard manual and electronic movie industry accessories, and other equipment such as matte boxes. Featuring a unified front lens diameter and uniform gear positions, the lenses do away with the need to adjust or reposition accessory gear when switching between other lenses in the series.
Anomalous dispersion glass
To reduce chromatic aberration the CN-E14.5-60mm T2.6L S/ L SP zoom lenses employ anomalous dispersion (AD) glass. When light passes through a lens, it refracts (bends). It also breaks up into its constituent colours, just like light passing through a prism. The lower the refractive index of the lens material, the less it bends and the sharper it can be focused. Similarly, the lower the dispersion ratio, the less the light is broken up, which makes it easier to correct chromatic aberration. AD glass is similar to fluorite in that it features a low refractive index and low dispersion. Using AD glass Canon has been able to manufacture lenses with superior performance at a lower cost.
Using the latest advances from new ghosting simulation (optical simulation), that’s been refined through Canon’s broadcast HD zoom lens development, an anti-reflective lens coating offers reduced ghosting and flare.
Large aspherical lenses
Within the optical construction of the zoom lenses large aspherical lenses are deployed to reduce distortion and deliver unrivalled optical performance. In the early days, all lenses were spherical – they are the easiest lens shape to make, but are not best suited to rendering a sharp image as they cannot make parallel rays of light converge at the same point. This causes a problem called spherical aberration. Canon designers discovered that an aspherical (non-spherical) lens shape would eliminate these spherical aberrations, because the curvature of the lens could be used to converge the light rays to a single point.

If a lease the recognition and depreciation of the asset is by the lessor. The lease rate is immediately deductible (tax advantage) for the lessee. The sales tax is agreed to any payment due and is deductible as input tax. When the lease-purchase the hire-purchase object in contrast will be activated of the fixed assets and also written off from this. The lease rate is recorded as interest and repayment. The sales tax is to be the sum of all payments shall be made in the context of the contract of hire-purchaser due and must be paid at the beginning of the lease period. What happens when sending my request?
